MEET
THE TEAM

IULIA VUIA

CO-EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, ADMINISTRATIVE EDITOR

Iulia is a 1st year MMSt student with a background in archaeology. Her interests lie in critical issues, identity-making with objects, and museums as a setting for advocacy and activism. Her dream is to create queer spaces that visualize, preserve, and celebrate the resilience of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Outside of the classroom, she loves thrifting and curating fashion for the big and curvy girls, collecting David Bowie vinyls (as many as her wallet will allow), and cooking for her loved ones. Iulia is so excited to join the MUSSA family and bring her bright energy and enthusiasm to this year’s council!

CATE RACHER

CO-EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, COPY EDITOR

Cate is a second year Master of Museum Studies student with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in History from Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as as postgraduate degree in new media journalism from Sheridan College and a B.A in English, also from Laurier. She comes by her passion for history and culture honestly, as both her parents have ties to the heritage and culture sector. She is very interested in repatriation and assisting in repairing relationships between settler society and BIPOC communities around the world, as she believes that this is integral to the future of museums going forward. Outside of school, Cate is a voracious reader with dreams of having her own home library, a baker of many types of bread and sweet treats, and a nerd who spends far too much timing gaming with a cat curled up in her lap. She is always more than happy to chat about anything fun, creative or nerdy, be that history, video games, cooking or any books that people are reading.

OLIVIA MAR

COMMUNICATION OFFICER

Olivia is a first-year MMSt student at the Faculty of Information.  In her first year at MUSSA, she is excited to collaborate on community development initiatives. She has her honours degree from Wilfrid Laurier University specializing in History and Communications.
Outside school, she enjoys painting, reading, scrabble, and knitting. She is looking forward to being the Musing Communications Officer this year. Students and staff alike are welcome to ask questions and say hello!
